A Restricted Call

Over a hundred students from the College of Journalism and Mass Communication, myself among them, bussed to a beautiful glass business building in Cleveland for the 2015 Career Expo. Inside one of the conference rooms were an array of company representatives seated behind their corresponding tables, waiting patiently for the incoming storm of nervous, desperate-for-work college kids.

I spoke to 11 of the 35 companies' represented at the expo, some out of genuine interest and some out of the desire to get rid of my résumés. In most cases, I wasn't particularly interested in the organizations I was pitching myself to, and I don't believe they were very interested in the pseudo-Bob Ross-looking fella seated in front of them.

Halfway through the bus ride back to Kent, I get a restricted call. I though to myself, "Huh. This is either something really amazing or spam."

Turns out, against all odds, it was amazing.

I'm not gonna write what it was for because nothing is guaranteed yet, but if this opportunity takes flight, I'll have the coolest damn internship ever.

Internships & Scholarships

I'm acutely aware of the hiring managers and scholarship awarders who will be scrolling through this website over the next couple of weeks. I also know they'll probably come across several other websites, each with its own style and content.

So, to each and every person with the state of my emotional and financial well-being resting in their hands, I say:

Thank you for taking the time to review my material; I truly appreciate it. I hope the website has given you some good insight into my personality and skill sets.

If you need me, I'll be rocking back and forth in fetal position over in the corner of my dorm room.
